The XXIX Week of Scientific and Technological Culture, promoted by MIUR, will take place from 2 to 8 March. The Coehar organizes a seminar on March 3 in Biological Tower, Room 1

The CoEHAR (Center of Excellence for the Acceleration of Harm Reduction of the University of Catania) and LIAF (Italian Anti-Smoking League) take part in the Culture Week in collaboration with the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the University of Catania.

A training seminar, “The Anti-smoking revolution starts from Catania”, will be held for students of Catania on the 3rd of March at the Biological Tower, Room 1.

The event will be attended by: Riccardo Polosa, founder of CoEHAR; Giovanni Li Volti, new director of CoEHAR; Ezio Campagna, LIAF President; Massimo Caruso, CoEHAR researcher; Pasquale Caponnetto, coordinator of the Anti-smoking Center of the Policlinico Vittorio Emanuele; Marilena Maglia, CPCT collaborator and Valeria Nicolosi, CoEHAR press office chief.

From 2 to 8 of March 2020, the XXIX Week of Scientific and Technological Culture will take place throughout Italy. The aim of the week, promoted by MIUR, is to spread the technical and scientific culture in the country.

What about the Week of Scientific and Technological Culture?

The idea is to open new communication channels and to promote the exchange of information between the civil society, specifically the school system, and the macrocosm of Universities, research bodies, companies and museums.

Primary goal is to involve young people and students, real driving force of innovation and change within the world of scientific research.

What about the events in Catania?

The University of Catania, in partnership with several Research Bodies, organizes lectures, visits to museum, labs activities and practical demonstrations aimed at students of all levels and degrees.

Starting from March 2, the city of Catania will host conferences and seminars about the history of science and techniques, initiatives about the role of the media on the diffusion of technical-scientific culture, events that want to deepen the relationship between the diffusion of technical culture- scientific and growth of employment opportunities for young people.

Participation is free but registration is required to participate through the forum.
