Behavioral Interventions can help smokers with diabetes quit with a greater likelihood of success. However, structured programs are needed

The results were included in the review "Behavioural therapy for people with diabetes who smoke: a scoping review," published in the Journal of Primary Care and Community Health: it is now clear that persons living with diabetes are not the subject of targeted treatments and that there is ample room for progress. It seems that more structured and intensive therapies could benefit these persons in bidding farewell to cigarette smoking, while little is still known about the possible benefits of combining  behavioral therapies and nicotine replacement pharmacological therapies.

HOW TO CHANGE HEALTH POLICY STRATEGIES? SMOPHED STUDY: INVESTIGATION ON VAPERS AND SMOKERS ACCESSING EMERGENCY HOSPITAL SERVICES.

But how much would harm reduction and the reduction of smoking-related diseases affect international health policy strategies? Would there be fewer hospital admissions without conventional cigarette smoke? The answer will be provided by questionnaires administered to over 3000 hospitalized patients whose smoking habits and potential use of non-combustion products will be analyzed to assess the causes of hospital admission and the subsequent outcomes of the diseases identified.

New report from The Royal College of Physician: positive impact of E-Cigarettes

The Royal College of Physicians has assessed the available evidence on the use of e-cigarettes, from health effects to the issue of youth vaping, publishing a report with over 50 recommendations. What are the effects of vaping on never-smokers? For the first time, the VERITAS project will evaluate the impact of these devices on people who exclusively vape

Jeffrey Zamora, President of Asovape Costa Rica, President of ARDT Iberoamerica and Veritas's project leader, said: "We are using an innovative platform with a 2-step verification process where people will enroll in the study. After registering on the website, participants will be asked to provide information about the devices used, frequency of use, age of initiation, flavor preferences, motivations, and any cigarette consumption or experimentation. They will also complete the Respiratory Symptom Experience Scale, a validated scale that asks subjects to rate the frequency with which they had experienced any respiratory symptoms".

“We would like to thank all the partners for accepting to continue this important partnership with the new edition of the Replica Project” stated Prof. Giovanni Li Volti, recently reconfirmed COEHAR Director “The goal for this new session of experiments is to replicate published scientific works dealing with the impact of cigarette smoke and RRP on the progression of cancer and in particular to molecular mechanisms of chemoresistance. In particular, the result of such studies will make also the difference in terms of harm reduction strategies for a particular vulnerable population of patients and improve the quality of their life in terms of life expectancy and adverse reactions to chemotherapy”

MAGNIFICAT: published the innovative protocol on dual users and harm reduction potential

The MAGNIFICAT study, strongly advocated by Prof. Riccardo Polosa, will evaluate the effects of the combined use of conventional cigarettes and electronic cigarettes on human health, quantifying this impact by collecting samples, researching and describing the core of different levels of dual use on exposure to toxic substances and harm reduction, and using specific biomarkers, clinical endpoints, and behavioral correlations
