GFN 2024

Dr. Lia Emma, Replica project researcher at CoEHAR, will join the GFN 2024 edition from June 13 to 15 at the Marriott Centrum Hotel, in Warsaw to present the latest work by the Replica project team

Everything is ready for the 2024 edition of the Global Forum on Nicotine (GFN): since its inception, this conference has focussed on safer nicotine products’ role in helping people quit smoking. Rapid development continues in technologies that are offering consumers safer alternatives to combustible tobacco. These include vapes, oral alternatives like nicotine pouches and new forms of snus, and heated tobacco.

The theme for GFN 2024 is ‘Economics, Health and Tobacco Harm Reduction’: the economic impact of the changes occurred in the traditional tobacco market, short and long-term, cannot be ignored. This applies at an individual level – for smokers switching – as well as to companies developing, manufacturing and distributing new products and to governments, in terms of tax revenues and potential savings in health costs.

Every year, the GFN conference brings together some of the most authoritative voices in the field of tobacco harm reduction.

For the 2024 edition, Dr. Lia Emma, PhD in Translational Biomedicine and assistant professor of Internal Medicine at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the University of Catania, has been selected to join the panel dedicate to THR science.

Dr. Emma, researcher at the Replica project, is going to present: “Replica Project: A Journey Through Multicentric Research Endeavors”. The appointment is set for June 14 at 11,30 am.
