What does e-cigarette aerosol contain? A new review analyzes studies that have measured the amount of carbonyls present in the aerosol

A new review conducted by CoEHAR researchers, and a pool of international experts analyzed the studies evaluating electronic cigarette emissions, confirming low levels of potentially harmful compounds, such as carbonyls,…

Unveiling the truth of aerosol emission: far fewer hazardous compounds in heated tobacco products than in cigarette smoke

“ Our comprehensive analysis underscores that the aerosol from heated tobacco products (HTPs) contains markedly fewer and substantially lower concentrations of toxic compounds compared to traditional cigarette smoke," Professor Roberto Sussman, first author of the study, stated. "However, despite the reduced levels, the existence of harmful compounds in HTPs and e-cigarettes, notably aldehydes, necessitates vigilant oversight."

Replica: slight or no cytotoxic, mutagenic and genotoxic effects induced by the ecig aerosol

The third phase of the Replica project is in the prime of its activity: CoEHAR researchers successfully replicated the study published by Rudd and colleagues in 2020 and the data obtained not only show slight or no cytotoxic, mutagenic and genotoxic effects induced by the e-cigarette aerosol, but the work by researchers of Catania covered some methodological gaps and limitations in the original work.

Covid-19: ecig only add 1% of risk compared to breathing

Incredibly, people close to an infected vaper using an e-cigarette in home or restaurant scenarios face a one percent increase of risk of contagion compared to the control case of a normal breathing (without vaping) inside closed spaces. This relative added risk becomes 5-17 percent for high intensity vaping and up to 260 percent for speaking for various periods and coughing.
